Alexandra Migani, LCSW, LADC

You really are your greatest strength. I practice from a strengths-based approach and believe each individual has the ability to achieve the life they envision for themselves. As your therapist I am here to help you live a life with ease and to get out of living in survival mode. Together we will define a unique, individualized plan that meets you where you are. You can expect my practice to be grounded in compassion and empowerment with a holistic understanding.

I believe health and wellness encompasses mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Wellness is more than being free from struggle: it is a process of change and growth. Everything we feel and do relates to our well-being and directly affects our actions and emotions. I am here to help you with personal discovery and growth, exploring your emotions, navigating and coping with personal struggles to improve your quality of life.

I work with late adolescents, adults, and couples to address issues such as anxiety, infertility, self-image/self-esteem, depression, life transitions, school stressors, and relationship difficulties. I also specialize in substance use and supporting those who are struggling to cope with someone else’s substance use. I use a variety of evidence based therapeutic practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and more to help you make the change you want to see.

I earned my Masters in Social Work with a clinical focus from the University of Connecticut as well as a BA in Psychology with a concentration in mental health and substance use from Southern Connecticut State University.

My passions for achieving balance and holistic wellness is practiced through my own journey. I enjoy yoga, paddle boarding, hiking, snowboarding, kayaking, cooking, traveling and spending time with family, friends, and my 2-year-old Black Labrador named Nala.
